June 17, 2022Rediscover Bali: A Journey to the Serene Beratan Lake and Ulun Danu Temple

Travelers, I’m sure you’ll agree that one of the biggest impacts post-Covid has been on the tourism sector.
Yes, the tourism sector seems to be the most vulnerable when it comes to recovery after the pandemic. Covid has caused much of this sector to close down and fade away. Bali, as Indonesia’s tourism icon, hasn’t escaped this impact. I’m sure some writers have written about the beauty of Bali, from its beaches to its natural landscapes. Through this writing, I want to rekindle the motivation of travelers that Bali is still here, Bali is still beautiful, and Bali still needs our presence.
The pandemic is almost over, and the economy is beginning to recover, including the tourism sector. However, there are still some travelers who are hesitant to step out and enjoy the beauty of Indonesia’s nature. If traveling abroad is still limited, then this is the time to maximize the potential of domestic tourism. So, let’s start checking for promo tickets to Bali.
And here we go… I’ll remind you how Bali is still beautiful for travelers to visit.
Danau Beratan, Ulun Danu
For travelers who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the capital city, I recommend visiting this lake. On the way, travelers will be treated to a pleasant and lush view, of course. The winding and cool roads will make travelers feel at ease and temporarily forget the ambitions of the skyscrapers in the capital. We traveled from downtown Denpasar, about 1 hour and 30 minutes by rental car.

Arriving at Bedugul Lake, travelers will be greeted with views of hills and mountains. The most iconic spot for the best photos is (of course) Ulun Danu Temple. This temple is located on the lakeside, and it represents the nine Kahyangan Jagat temples surrounding the island of Bali. There are at least five temples visible from Beratan Lake, namely Pura Agung Penataran, Pura Dalem Purwa, Pura Taman Beiji, Pura Lingga Petak, and Pura Prajapati.

These temples are still used for worship, so if travelers are lucky, you might witness the unique traditional ceremonies… isn’t that exciting? Oh, and the ticket price is only 20,000 IDR per person, and travelers will get to enjoy the beautiful view of Beratan Lake. Inside, travelers can also see various green trees that will certainly make you want to stay longer. You can also take a boat ride around the lake, but when I visited, it was still closed due to Covid.

Tips for travelers who want to visit Bedugul: it’s best to book a comfortable vehicle that suits the number of travelers you’re bringing. If you’re in a group, renting a car is better than relying on public transportation, which isn’t easy to find there. For small families with one child, renting a motorbike will feel more fun. Give it a try…
So, what are you waiting for? Bali is waiting for travelers to drop by… Stay tuned for the next destination in Part 2…
